Welcome to Antoinette Duran Silva's Genealogy Homepage!
I began an extensive genealogy search in 1993 after visiting some ancestral homes in New Mexico; Socorro, Texas; and Morenci, Arizona. Information presented in this website is the result of that search. I plan to provide information about some of my ancestral towns in New Mexico, including Santa Fe, Santa Cruz de la Cañada, Bernalillo, Alburquerque (along the way, the first "r" was dropped), Tomé (also known in the 1700s as Fuenclara), San Gabriel de las Nutrias, Belen, La Joya de Sevilleta, Mesilla, Las Cruces, El Colorado (now called Rodey), and Hatch.
About Carlos Lopolopo
Author and lecturer, Carlos LoPopolo is a native Pennsylvanian. Since arriving in New Mexico 36 years ago, he has employed his background in History, Geology, and Anthropology to research the Spanish Colonial settlements and development of New Mexico. His research has resulted in the publication of five editions of New Mexico Chronicles, which focus on the period from 1581-1821. Another book, Dirt Cheap, discusses researching and abstracting land in New Mexico. Carlos has contracted with the State of New Mexico, the Counties of Torrence, Sandoval, and Valencia, along with U.S. West Communications to map specific areas.
