Albert G. Wilkinson A Fourth Corporal in Company F of the 5th Regiment Texas Mounted Volunteers commanded by Thomas "Tom" Green. He fought in the Civil War at The Battle of Valverde in New Mexico on February 18, 1862. The Company Records indicate that Company F took part in the Battle of Valverde and the skirmish at Peralta. On the eve of the invasion of New Mexico, one man was medically discharged, one was killed, two died, and one man, who was left behind later died, leaving Company F with ninety-nine effectives. Company F arrived in San Antonio with no more than sixty-nine men fit for duty. |
